Like most people I’ve done a variety of different things over the years. Here are 10 (possibly strange and definitely random) things that you probably didn’t know about me!
- I used to be a professional gamer. I spent a summer being paid by Nintendo to play computer games and help promote their new console.
- I nearly got run over during the filming of Judge Dredd. I spent a year working as a film extra in London. This mostly involved hanging around film sets and meeting bizarre people.
- I used to be a professional film maker and I created the official music video for BT’s Knowledge of Self.
- The first album I ever bought was Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre.
- The first keyboard I owned was a (not very good) Casio VL-Tone. You can here a podcast about it here.
- My first commercial music release was a white label rave track called Special by Freebase. It sold 1,752 copies.
- I once spent a week working at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. It was a weirdly depressing experience.
- I collaborated with Michael e to write and record the critically acclaimed album Secrets Like These.
- My favourite film is a documentary called 1 Giant Leap. It had a huge impact on me and heavily influenced the sound of my first album Find Your Own Space.
- As a teenager I was taught (by the army) to shoot a submachine gun. I’m not entirely sure why I needed to know this, but it’s always good to be prepared! #ZombieApocalypse
